What is Craftpedia? A Global Encyclopedia of Traditional Crafts |

Craftpedia is an independent, non-commercial initiative to document, explore, and preserve traditional crafts, artisanal techniques, and the cultural heritage behind them — from every corner of the globe.
Our aim is to create a living encyclopedia of human craftsmanship — organized by region, material, technique, and cultural context.
?️ The Wiki
The main site, Craftpedia.wiki, is a growing wiki where each page presents a specific craft, practice, or artifact. Content is organized by continent, region, and use, allowing deep and cross-cultural exploration.
? The Forum
This forum is a space for conversation:
→ Ask questions, share experiences, compare techniques across regions, or discuss challenges in documentation.
→ It’s also where contributors and researchers collaborate and shape the development of Craftpedia together.
? Our Values - Cultural respect
- Knowledge preservation
- Open access
- Global inclusiveness
? Want to contribute?
You can help by:- Sharing stories or photos from your region
- Linking to historical materials
- Writing or editing wiki pages
- Starting discussions in the forum
Let’s document and celebrate the creative knowledge of humankind — together.

Welcome to the Craftpedia Forum! To keep our community respectful, helpful, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:
1. Be Respectful
Treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of their background or level of experience. Healthy debates are welcome, but personal attacks, hate speech, or discrimination will not be tolerated.
2. Stay On Topic
Post in the appropriate forums and keep discussions relevant. If you want to talk about multiple crafts or regions, consider starting separate threads.
3. No Spam or Self-Promotion
Avoid posting unsolicited advertisements, spam, or excessive links. If you want to share your own work, projects, or business, please do so thoughtfully and within the dedicated forums.
4. Use Clear Titles and Descriptions
Make it easier for others to find and engage with your posts by using descriptive titles and clear language.
5. Protect Privacy
Do not share personal information about yourself or others. Respect everyone’s privacy and confidentiality.
6. Report Problems
If you see inappropriate content or have concerns, please report it to the moderators instead of engaging in conflicts.
7. Follow Copyright Laws
Share only content you own or have permission to post. Give credit where it’s due.
Thank you for helping us build a welcoming and vibrant community. Let’s share knowledge, celebrate craftsmanship, and learn from each other!
